Skell all your friends!
I made this guy on Tuesday night in the hotel room. He's actually a lot smaller than the other one I made a few years ago. I didn't take very much felt with me to ABQ so I had to ration it. I then sold it on Wednesday night at dinner to one of my friends, but hopefully soon I'll have some up in the store. I'd ideally like them to be a little bigger than this.

Oh, Sweet Pea(r).
I call my friend Kat "Sweet Pear" because one day I was trying to type "sweet pea" and an R appeared. We decided it was her nickname from then on. I've been meaning to make her a little plush pear for weeks now. I made this little thing on the drive home from Albuquerque earlier.
Unfortunately this miserable fabric frays! So when I went to close the plush it started to come apart. I had a little bit of a hissy fit because I didn't want to start over. I almost cut it in half with a pair of scissors from sheer frustration. After I cooled off I added a little patch. It looks sort of like it's supposed to be there and kind of adorable. I hope she doesn't mind!
I get really impatient sometimes, so instead of coming home and drawing and scanning the label and then printing it onto the green paper, I just drew it on directly since it's a one-off plush anyhow.

Mess Desk.
My desk and my life are both huge messes, but at least my desk is covered in adorable things, like this zine by Mel Stringer. ♥

GREETINGS FROM NEW MEXICO!
I went to Ruidoso today, but I didn't feel very well. I tried to put on a happy face regardless.
The main reason I went was to go to the trading post and buy some of these beads for crafting projects I have in my head.
I also picked up some postcards to mail out. These make New Mexico look fantastic. These just happen to be fantastic parts of a not-so-fantastic state! :)

Magical Crafting Hoard pt. 2
Sadly, most of the Magical Crafting Hoard was taken long before I had a crack at it, but I made some good finds from what was left. These unfinished quilting squares were my favorite find from today. The stitches are so clean and tight. I cannot embroider like this to save my life. And that chain stitch on the green one is adorable. Gracious!

Courtesy the Magical Crafting Hoard.
AKA my grandparents' old trailer house.
Fabric from childhood Halloween costumes. Mermaid and Space Girl.
My sister asked me to look for yarn, but in the short time I was there, this was all I found. No one is allowed to use it. Too cute. It's going in a shadow box.
Going through the bags of fabric I brought back to see what was big enough to use, I found this. This is the most ME fabric I've ever seen. Tiny cacti on turquoise.

You Don't Bring Me Flowers (and I don't listen to Streisand. Really!)
A while back I decided I was sick of waiting for someone to give me flowers, so I started buying them for myself. I just buy cheap little $5 bouquets from the grocery store, but flowers are lovely at any price. It's gotten to the point where my room feels empty if my vase is empty.
I still wouldn't mind if someone gave me flowers, though. :)

Unluckily my butt is large and mound-like, so scorpions confuse it with sand dunes.*
I was laying in bed and this decided to crawl over my bum. Being the expert scorpion-wrangler that I am, I immediately clutched at it (miraculously not getting stung this time) and threw it off my bed, screaming like a little girl. I jumped up and turned the lights on and saw it clinging to the side of my mattress. I grabbed a little glass container and the first piece of cardstock I could find and proceeded to escort the little jerk to the front yard (That's right. I only kill cockroaches and flies).
However, on my way through the living room I realized how appropriate it was that the first piece of cardstock I found was this desert illustration, turned around, went back to my room, and took pictures. Then I threw it out in the yard.
