Two of Us...

I opted to buy these dishes today. I've wanted them a little while and they're on sale so I figured I should buy them before they're gone.

I bought a pitcher, two bowls, and two plates. One for me and one for...you...whoever you are. I'm thinking about maybe getting more if they're still there on payday, but I kind of like the idea of just a set for two. If only there was another person to share them with.

The Craft Barn

I went to the craft store I grew up going to for the first time in years to see if they had some tiny safety eyes that I was using for my bats that the big craft store no longer sells. When I was looking around the store I found some wooden mustaches and a 99 cent bear head.

The store smelled like my grandmother and my childhood, which was awesome and a giant bummer all at once.

Wind-chime and postcards.

The one on the left has a recipe for cooking rattlesnake. The one of the right is Billy the Kid.

Some dead friends. (Jesse James, Annie Oakley, Billy the Kid)

GREETINGS FROM NEW MEXICO!

I went to Ruidoso today, but I didn't feel very well. I tried to put on a happy face regardless.

The main reason I went was to go to the trading post and buy some of these beads for crafting projects I have in my head.

I also picked up some postcards to mail out. These make New Mexico look fantastic. These just happen to be fantastic parts of a not-so-fantastic state! :)

You Don't Bring Me Flowers (and I don't listen to Streisand. Really!)

A while back I decided I was sick of waiting for someone to give me flowers, so I started buying them for myself. I just buy cheap little $5 bouquets from the grocery store, but flowers are lovely at any price. It's gotten to the point where my room feels empty if my vase is empty.

I still wouldn't mind if someone gave me flowers, though. :)

Great Scot, indeed!

My magazine came in the mail yesterday. What a lovely thing to have on the table next to my bed.

Today is a Doctor Who marathon leading up the the series 5 [BBC America] premiere with Matt Smith as The Doctor. I'm pretty sure I'm going to like Matt Smith, but I will certainly miss David Tennant.

Favorite Scottish Men of the Moment (in no particular order and off the top of my head): James McAcoy, David Tennant, Craig Ferguson, Paolo Nutini, Gordon Ramsay, John Barrowman.

Today is Old Timer's Day here in podunk. OUTHOUSE RACES are in less than 2 hours. Hopefully I'll get a few pictures for those of you who have never seen an outhouse race, and no, it's not people racing to a porta-potty, though I'm sure there will be plenty of that going on today.

It's also Record Store Day. Roswell is actually surprisingly participating so after the race we'll be attending to see if there's anything worth buying. Then tonight we'll be whipping up a peanut butter cake, then it's Doctor Who and The Graham Norton Show.

This sums up today.

Cinnamon dino-toast.

I love getting mail.

Especially mail with doodles and dinosaurs.

And the Steve Harrington dunny I ordered. So gorgeous.

I was hoping my Jame McAvoy Nylon Guys would be here today as well, but hopefully by Saturday.

Faren Bearowitz VS. The Blank Canvas

This, unfortunately, is a battle I tend to always lose!

I purchased one of these little acrylic sets for both my mother and myself lastnight. Sadly, I have absolutely no ideas of what to paint. I've been trying to get back into painting for months...or wanting to rather, but just can't seem to come up with any ideas.

Wish me luck!

Only the necessities.

Just as I said, knowing my luck the bookstore either would never have gotten the James McAvoy issue of Nylon Guys or would have actually changed out their magazines on time. They didn't have ANY issues, therefore I'm going with the former guess.

I did, however pick up some necessary items.

Then I went home and promptly purchased the magazine on eBay and subscribed to Netflix and have been binging on Doctor Who until the new series premieres this coming Saturday. I fear I've become slightly obsessed.

And the winner of Best Sister for March 2010 is...

Seriously. My sister is pretty great.

I asked her if she was going to bring home Sherlock Holmes or if I needed to buy it on Friday, and asked her if she was going to pick up the tulips she told me she bought me the other day and was having the nursery hold, and this is what she came home with. The movie, said tulips, mini bananas, and Ben & Jerry's Maple Blondie ice cream (which I keep talking about saying I want to try before they stop making it).

In the background you can see my pink kangaroo planter I got at the antique store on Monday. It's currently holding my good paintbrushes. I haven't had a chance to take any good pictures of the things my mom got me when we went antiquing the other day. There was so much more I wish I could have brought home with me.

I watched Sherlock Holmes earlier. Jude Law. Unf. I have always found him ridiculously attractive, but as Watson? My goodness. And I've never been so attracted to Robert Downey Jr.

Went to see Alice In Wonderland tonight with Cecelia because she hadn't seen it yet. Trying to kill time before the movie we stopped at the bookstore and I picked up a copy of Nylon and some new moleskines. I love kraft paper. My sketchbooks are kraft paper with cardboard covers. My mailers for my Etsy sales are kraft paper. J'adore!

I love the new Alice movie. I know he's extremely bizarre-looking in the film, but I cannot help but have a terrible terrible crush on the Hatter. I'd like one for my very own! ♥

Back to Elvis westerns I go!
